Counseling with Albertina
I’m so heartened you are here. My name is Albertina and I live in Austin. I love to explore and travel, and have called Central Texas my home for about 25 years. For 16 of these years, I instructed Spanish language and linguistics, civilization, and culture, at The University of Texas at Austin, Texas State University, and at Austin Community College. While teaching advanced communication skills, and the beauty of relating with people across the globe, I discovered my passion for exploring and facilitating meaningful connection. Currently, in my role as a therapist, I hold that your life expertise, your wisdom, has brought you where you are today. I can never know all that you have learned about how to survive in this world, and I deeply honor your path. I welcome you, with all the complexities of your unique experience. Through a Rogerian, and Trauma-informed lens, I approach counseling relationally and holistically. We seek to understand, together, the embodied integration of the many messages we have received from various environments, over the course of a lifetime. In my own work, and my work with clients, I am moved by what shows up in the moment—what shows up in the body, what our mind makes of it, and how it shapes the path back our heart. I would be delighted to walk with you as you navigate your way toward what your heart most desires.
Our Work Together
During our time together, we get to be humans who meet in a safe space, where you are acknowledged for your wholeness, your strength, and your insight. I will arrive entirely in curiosity, to meet you. We will address what arises in the moment and discover what meaning it holds in your life. Ultimately, you decide what you leave behind, hold more closely, and what you will take with you on your journey forward.
